We brought our own food, but the oven was so dirty we never used it. The lodge needed a thorough deep clean: the fridge looked like milk had spilled and gone moldy, the bathroom was fine but the toilet hadn’t been flushed, and the area around the hot tub was filthy with cigarette butts and other debris. The decking required a serious scrub. The beds were clean, which was a relief. We’re pensioners hoping for a relaxing stay, but we were delayed by an accident that closed two lanes of the M62, and the office had shut at 5 pm, so we had to wait for someone to hand us the keys. I can’t transfer the photos I took, but I’ll ask someone to do it for me if needed.

“Excellent”

The location, price, and secluded jacuzzi fenced off from the rest of the property were quiet and peaceful. The only thing missing was a shaving mirror in the bathroom.

“not very good and left early”

The hot tub was filthy, full of hair, and slippery inside—my mother nearly slipped because it was slimy. We checked out a day early since the hot tub was the main attraction, and I’ll be looking for some compensation for the inconvenience.

“A lovely weekend with lovely friends”

The lodges were fully equipped and we didn’t lack anything. One lodge had a fridge‑freezer issue, but it was replaced promptly.
