The location was convenient, but everything looked nothing like the photos: the renovation was poor, the shower hose leaked so badly that there was no pressure to wash my hair, and the place smelled awful—old stuff, smoke, strong alcohol and aftertaste, spiderwebs and dirt everywhere. It was just enough to stay if you’re a worker, but I arrived with a child and expected a different level of service for 1000 hryvnia. A slightly pricier hotel would have been a decent choice. It felt like the owners don’t care about their business and do everything haphazardly.

The hostel, rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐, was a solid choice for an overnight before a trip. It sits in a quiet, peaceful spot, close to the historic center and both train and bus stations. A friendly man handed us the keys and explained the layout. We appreciated being able to come and go at any time. We left at 5 am: we grabbed our stuff, locked the doors, and left the keys in the door as agreed. The room was fairly spacious, and the small room behind ours kept the neighbors from bothering us. A real bonus was the kitchen where we could cook ourselves; it had a microwave, kettle, induction stove, and all the necessary dishes—very convenient. The bed linen was clean, and there was Wi‑Fi. On the downside, finding the hostel was a bit tricky because there were no signs, so we relied on Google Maps. We arrived at 6 am but couldn’t check in until 12:00 because the administrator only worked from that time. Sound insulation was weak, and the old mattress had springs that made it feel uncomfortable. The bed linen, while clean, was grey and felt synthetic, like polyester.
