“A nice stay with lovely staff and nice clean modern room”
The room was smart and clean, but the door of room 7 could be more solid and sound‑proof for better sleep.
The staff were really friendly, the food great, and the room very nice, but the frontage needed tidying up.
“Very smart rooms and good food with friendly staff”
Very clean and smart rooms. Narrow high stairs to the rooms made getting in and out a chore
“Over priced for the experience received.”
I was very disappointed overall. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, yet we expected more comfort. The minibar was empty, there was no chilled water, and no complimentary footwear. After paying £346.0 for one night we expected extras. Breakfast fell short in every way: toast, packet sliced bread; with a bit more imagination they could offer fresh croissants, freshly baked bread toast, and freshly poached eggs.
“Completely unacceptable experience and appalling handling of the situation”
Nothing positive. The stay was extremely disappointing and worsened by the hotel’s handling afterward. Before arrival the hotel told us there would be no hot water and that if we continued we would need to seek compensation, even though we had paid directly, which the hotel knew would complicate refunds. There was no hot water the entire stay, so we couldn’t take proper showers and had to wash in freezing cold water. The air conditioning in one room was broken, making it unbearably hot; two portable fans were provided but merely circulated warm air, and windows couldn’t be opened. Following the hotel’s instructions, we requested compensation and were repeatedly told to contact the hotel directly—exactly what the hotel should have anticipated. We eventually spoke with the DGM, Shane, who said a refund had been processed and that we’d need to wait a week. I waited 10 working days—about two weeks—and the refund still hadn’t arrived. We had to chase updates constantly, with no proactive communication or accountability. The most frustrating part is that the hotel knew beforehand there would be no hot water, so this was not an unforeseen issue.
