Our first two days in Costa Rica were pure bliss, thanks to Frederique and Philippe who treated us like royalty. We did an early‑morning bird‑watching tour with Jenny from Siempre Verde – the sights were unforgettable – and Philippe gave us a private walk through his vanilla farm, explaining how it supports the local community. A spontaneous karaoke night in Mastatal added a fun twist.

What a spectacular spot, tucked away from everything, perfect for unplugging. The room offered a stunning view, and the trip to the vanilla plantations followed by a river walk to a waterfall was unforgettable. Meals were delicious and the staff, especially Frederique and Philippe, were friendly and attentive. No complaints at all.

The scenery and laid‑back vibe were exactly what I needed, and the fresh, warm bread each morning was a treat. The owner was friendly and clearly wanted us to have a good time. The only hitch was that the restaurant served a single, mystery dish to everyone, with no alternative options.

We had an amazing time at the hacienda – the views were breathtaking, the jungle lush, and the birds could be heard and seen right from the terrace. Dinners under the bougainvillea and a stroll to the waterfall added extra charm, and Frederique and Philippe were incredibly thoughtful hosts.
