Everything is close by. The gardens are lovely and very peaceful. I need real coffee in the morning! Not many places for coffee open early.

The room’s décor and surroundings were nice, but I couldn’t use the air‑conditioner remote because someone had swapped it.

We felt like we were in a trailer park; the demountable was still on the trailer and there was a full bucket of sewage beside the accommodation. The booking site claimed it was a 2‑bedroom “chalet,” but the Thistle Hill website had no such listing. I emailed the property manager for clarification and never received a reply. I only stayed one night and asked the manager for a refund on the second night.
