Peter was superb at check‑in. We stayed in the G building, so we had to carry our suitcases a long way to our room. We parked about 100 yards from the room, along the side of the road, unloaded our luggage, and then lifted it up eight steps to get to our room.

The location was great and I liked all the trails around the property. I usually run cold, but the heat was cranked up, so I ended up hot. There are no shades on the windows, making it pretty bright in the morning. I brought my dogs because the hotel is pet friendly, but then they handed me a paper saying you can’t leave the property if your dogs are in the room. Lol.

The hotel feels very traditional and historic, offers great service, and is dog friendly. Unfortunately, breakfast was not good.

The building itself is a unique historical structure. The room was cramped, the furnishings were very old (not period pieces) and worn, and although the staff were polite, they seemed poorly trained.
