The room was very good size, and the en‑suite bathroom was adequate for any Northern European capital. I woke up to the sounds of the countryside and was given a huge bag of delicious home‑grown peaches when I left.

As soon as we arrived and dropped off our suitcases, the owner cut up a melon. In the morning, he brought some delicious milk. It was simply heaven. If there was a traditional Albanian breakfast it would be even better
