“Qui si lascia un pezzo di cuore”
We arrived at Casa Castiglia thinking we had simply booked a place to spend two days. We left feeling like we had experienced something we will remember for a long time. The welcome included Cristina and Peppe’s smiles, their warmth, their friendliness, and of course all the animals that are part of this wonderful little world. I will not easily forget the emotion of my partner and I while feeding Maruzza, the goat, and Basilico, the donkey who after a short time had already learned to recognize us and came to look for us. They may seem like small things, but they are exactly those that unexpectedly become the most beautiful memories of a trip. And then the chickens, roosters, dogs, and very sweet kittens… At Casa Castiglia every encounter seems to have a story. Cristina and Peppe don’t just open the door to a room: they open the doors to their house and, in some way, also to their life. They welcome you with genuine warmth and generosity that you can’t predict when you book. They recommend what to see, where to go, what to discover nearby, and they do it with a care that, after a short time, makes you stop feeling like a guest and start feeling at home. Our room was large, welcoming and cared for in every detail, with the same attention and heart that Cristina and Peppe seem to put into everything they do. There are beautiful places to stay and then there are places capable of leaving you something. Casa Castiglia was that for us. And it has one huge flaw: it creates addiction. Because when you leave, instead of thinking about the next place to visit, you already start thinking about when you can return.
