“Wonderful 😊”
I couldn't have asked for a better spot on the Lido—just a 10‑minute stroll to the public beach and another 10 minutes to the vaporetto for Venice. The supermarket is right around the corner, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. The host was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Every morning she served a lovely breakfast of boiled egg, juice, croissant, coffee, and yoghurt. The private garden that guests can use is often visited by her tortoises and cats, which is a cute touch. The one‑bedroom apartment with a small ensuite and outdoor seating was just right for two people who spent most of the day exploring Venice or the surrounding area. There were no cooking facilities and only a tiny chiller, but we ate out and made sandwiches each day, and the excellent breakfast kept us satisfied. The only thing we missed was a couple of wine glasses, which the gracious host supplied when we asked. Mosquitoes were a problem on the Lido, as they are everywhere in Venice, so bring repellant and bite cream; I regretted not having a mosquito net. However, with a small space and a quick dart through the door in a cloud of repellent each night, we didn’t have to spend too long hunting and dispatching these flying teeth to ensure a good night's rest.
