The location and price were great, and the old‑school pub vibe was charming, especially with plenty of parking and easy access to town. The building could use a touch of love, but that would change its character.

The pub’s spot for gigs at Piece Hall was perfect, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was small and the decor felt tired; an update to the decor and bathroom would help, though the room itself was very clean.

A friendly welcome, 15 minutes from the Piece Hall and 10 minutes from the fantastic Three Pigeons pub. I thought the room was overpriced for its basic nature, no milk with tea and coffee, and it felt a bit tired for £80 when £60 seemed fair; as someone who stays at hotels for gigs, this was more expensive than many others.

Full of character, old and atmospheric, and we even heard a ghost rapping—delightful. The food was good too! The bar closes at 10, which I understand as an out‑of‑town venue probably doesn’t see much business later.

The food was amazing, the staff were amazing, the venue is discreetly tucked away and feels really private. Nothing to complain about.
