The spot was smack in the middle of the beach, complete with hammocks and beach chairs for a private area. Coming from Australia, I felt the nightly rate was pricey, but it lines up with other resorts.

The resort itself was gorgeous, the food divine, and the people were the friendliest I’ve met. Happy hour by the pool every day from 3.30 to 7 added a nice touch. The roads were riddled with potholes, but that just made us laugh. I especially enjoyed the bus rides—drivers were hilarious and had great humor. A single ride costs $5, but a 10‑ride pass is $35, which is worth it for the entertainment. The cultural shows were a must‑see and absolutely fabulous. We loved our visit. On the downside, we ordered a breakfast pack for 8.30 pm the night before our flight, needing butter. At 9.15 we tried to get it back at the restaurant, but it was closed; only two kitchen staff were in the bar area. I asked for butter, and the man replied, “Butter, no butter! We have no butter,” in a rude tone. Everyone else on the island had been friendly, so that was a sour note on our last night.

We arrived a bit before the official check‑in time and the front desk didn’t mind – they handed us towels and let us use the showers while we waited. The staff were genuinely friendly, and the resort’s spot gave us a perfect view of the sunset. Nothing else really stood out as a problem.
