I really liked the courtyard café! The bath was a continuous flow with a large hinoki bath, it felt great. It’s a place where adults can stay quietly. The only downside was that the door of the room I stayed in was poorly fitted, making opening and closing a bit of a struggle.

The tea time offered a great selection of teas, cookies and sweets, and the onsen was superb. A shuttle to and from Yugawara station is available but must be pre‑booked. The staff were kind, the breakfast was excellent, and the hot spring had many amenities and good hairdryers. The private tub and shower in the room came with amenities. However, the classic room I stayed in felt old; the floor and tatami needed updating, some roof areas needed polishing or fixing, and the wall surface was rough. Breakfast started late at 8 am, and I had to leave at that time. I had to set up the futon myself and would have liked the staff to prepare the bedding like a ryokan.
