“Great value for money, especially for 1 night, cozy room”

A snug room with a kettle, hot drinks, a hair dryer and a towel. The host replied quickly to messages and was fine with us checking in at midnight, and let us stay until 11 am. I asked for two separate duvets or blankets because there were two of us, but the reply was “this is never going to happen u know, sorry,” probably a language issue; I eventually found a blanket in the cupboard near the room that was fine for the night.

“Weird and never again. Not sure how this level of accommodation can be on booking.com.”

The place was a room in a house, a short walk into Leeds and good transport links. It felt very odd to have small kids in the house and strangers in your home, which didn’t sit well with me. I shared a bathroom, which was okay, but it was a family setting: toothbrushes in a cup and Veet next to the toilet. I didn’t see anyone during my one night, only heard the kids playing until midnight. The bed was literally two halves, with a huge dip that I tried to avoid but gravity pulled me in. The fridge was actually a freezer, everything came out rock solid, and the breakfast wrap wasn’t particularly edible.

Getting there was not very easy, and the staff were not very friendly.

“Friendly host made me feel comfortable and attentive”

It was clean, well presented, and the host was very friendly. Finding it was a bit difficult, but that doesn’t reflect on the host.
