I stayed there at the beginning of September, when the temperatures were still warm but manageable; the rooms were quiet and had fans instead of air conditioning. Breakfast featured fresh, homemade items that kicked off the day nicely. A huge thanks to Dafne, the host of Antica Sosta, who was incredibly helpful and friendly, explaining everything and giving great advice. She even sent me a phone charger I’d forgotten, and did it in a flash – a thoughtful touch I didn’t expect.

The place is close to great spots and the room was comfortable. She honored our special request for eggs and let us cook them ourselves, keeping everything self‑serve all day. The coffee machine tray was overflowing, attracting flies. The cakes stayed the same for three days. The shower was a tub with a shower nozzle, which makes it hard for older people.

The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and in an excellent spot for visiting the Val d’Orcia. Dafne, who runs the hotel, is very kind and helpful.
