The owner was incredibly friendly and walked us through everything with a smile, which made us feel right at home. The only downside was the bathroom – it was a bit cramped and not the most comfortable spot. Overall, the warm hospitality outweighed that minor flaw.

Arriving close to midnight, we were welcomed with hot tea and traditional rose cakes, which the host kept offering throughout our stay. She also helped us arrange car trips around Lijiang, and the homestay’s location meant we could walk everywhere in the old town. The rooms were cozy, clean, and stocked with fresh towels – truly the highlight of our trip.
