The reception was friendly and the room had a very comfortable bed. It’s centrally located in Avallon, making it easy to enjoy the town and its Saturday morning market.

The room was beautifully furnished with all the luxury amenities and the food was especially delicious. The breakfast was very expensive, so I went to the bakery instead, which was fine. The service that was supposed to carry luggage from the car to the room was completely missing, which is a point of attention for a supposedly luxury hotel.

The lighting in the room was poor, and the breakfast was terrible for the steep price. At 9:30 a.m. there was only one croissant left, and the chef was supposed to bring more but never did. There were crumbs of stale bread stuck at the bottom of a dish, and the cups were too small for tea. It doesn’t deserve a 4‑star rating or the cost.
