The buildings are pretty, clean and well presented; the host was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, and the value for money is great.

I stayed for a few nights to unwind from the city and a long drive, and the place worked great—beautiful garden and seating area, and the hosts were lovely. Everything else was perfect.

“Friendly and characterful”

The hostess was incredibly helpful and breakfast was spectacular. The whole gite was spotless and the bed was huge and comfy, but the kitchen was tiny, so it’s not ideal if you plan to cook a substantial meal for more than a few days. The old stone building had a lot of character, though some doorways required ducking through. We didn’t know beforehand that the door and stair access could be a bit tricky, which could pose a real problem for anyone with creaky knees, or who is tall or wide.

“Four hundred year old cottage”

The visitor accommodation sits in newly converted out-buildings; ours was the four‑hundred‑year‑old ottage, quirky, spacious enough for the two of us and our dog, and well equipped with a tiny kitchen. The upstairs shower was excellent and there were plenty of towels. The access to the first floor is very challenging, as their information says, and a closed step staircase is on the cards. The bedroom is large and the bed very comfortable.
