“Wish They'd Told Us They Were Facing Issues”
The breakfast was hot and tasty, the AC/Heat worked, and the Wi‑Fi was fine. However, the TV didn’t work because of a lightning strike. Since we booked through a third party, they couldn’t move us to another room; they offered some Marriott points, which the staff were kind about, but we’d have preferred a working TV. We couldn’t understand why a new room with proper amenities wasn’t available, and we felt penalised for not booking directly. In the lobby only one of three TVs worked. The “couch” was actually a day‑bed with a trundle and ottoman, not a comfortable sofa at all. The shower had red mold, the toilet seat was pinched, and the towels were very coarse. The king bed had obvious dips, especially on one side, forcing us to lie very still and causing back pain in the morning. Only one elevator was operational because of the lightning strike. We wish the hotel had warned us that the facilities were not as advertised before our free cancellation period ended; we only learned after we checked in and tried to turn on the TV. They said the lightning strike happened in early September and that our mid‑October stay was still affected by electrical and entertainment issues. They were working to fix it, but the surprise of discovering the problems after arrival was unpleasant.
