“Great value and lovely rooms”
The rooms were lovely, each feeling like a separate dwelling. They were on the ground floor, faced a nice green courtyard, and had a small patio outside where you could sit. Spacious and comfortable, with comfy beds, clean linens and towels, and great natural light. The place was owned by a sweet couple, one of whom spoke decent English (though speaking Spanish helps). A big security door separated the courtyard from the street, giving a strong sense of safety. Many cafés, bars and restaurants were nearby, so you could always find something good to eat or drink within walking distance. The price represented good value for what you got. My only real issue was that they clean every day by default, leaving windows open to dry floors and air out the room. When I arrived, I found my window wide open and felt terrified, so I had to check my bags carefully for theft. After speaking with the owners they apologized and offered to clean only if I asked, but a “do not disturb” sign and closing the windows once everything was dry (or not opening them at all) would help. The area is lively during the day, but at night it can feel a bit dark and deserted, while streets a few blocks away are full of drunk party‑goers. I wouldn’t call the neighborhood unsafe, but I didn’t feel especially safe or at ease there at night.
