The hotel is located in the city near everything—restaurants for evenings if you don’t feel like going out—and it’s very new, so it’s super clean. The restaurant staff were very nice, though we found them a bit less smiling for the rest of the staff. Scooter rentals were pricier than in the city, even though the scooters come from a nearby rental. Just walk there instead.

The location was close to restaurants and the beach. The place was super clean and the beds were very comfortable (Western style). The staff were exceptional, always greeting with a warm smile. Thanks to Gidi for keeping our room spotless. The receptionist and dining staff were always ready to help and ask about your day. I stayed a week and dove with Bali Reef with August, who was patient and helpful. The only downside was the neighbors’ chickens, constantly crowing all day on the other side of the wall, which made it hard to relax by the pool or eat at the restaurant.

Beforehand, the contact for the accommodation and its diving base was very friendly; they organized a pickup from Sanur and a transfer from the accommodation to the airport at local prices, since a grab couldn’t be ordered there. The staff, especially Juju—hope I spelled that right—always had a very friendly smile when you could or when you went. Even at breakfast you were warmly welcomed. No negative comments.

Kura kura is a peaceful haven, perfect for divers looking for reconnection and calm. The staff is very attentive, breakfast is pretty good, and the rooms are very pleasant. We also took the diving option with a scuba master for two people, very calm and reassuring. Be prepared for rooster crowing almost all day, but that’s part of the charm and experience. The diving lesson is far too expensive (80 €, okay in Europe but not in Bali).
