The spot is well placed in Islington with a few bus stops nearby that can take you to the major train stations. I know it’s London—an old city where air conditioning is rare—but there was no fan in our room. The blinds were left open when we arrived, and the black leather sofa in the room absorbed all the heat, turning the space into a radiator. Even with the windows open and the blinds closed all day, we couldn’t get any air in at night, so we had to keep our bedroom door open, which was very invasive since the bathroom was right across the hall. It didn’t feel safe or secure, but we had no choice if we wanted to sleep. The floorboards were extremely squeaky, and we were woken up whenever someone used the bathroom.

I loved the location right next to Cally Park, which also has a small café. It’s close to shops and restaurants, and buses to and from King's Cross Station are easy to catch. The rooms were very clean, with a shared bathroom and kitchen and a small garden. It depends on what you expect; it has everything you need, is clean, and the manager is nice.

The property is well located near bus and tube stops. We enjoy the area because it’s community‑based and the local cafés are superb. The queen room didn’t actually include a queen bed—misleading! The sofa was well worn, and the carpet wasn’t the cleanest, but we appreciated the extra space. The top‑floor bathroom could use a deep clean, and the towels had some discoloration, which was unpleasant and made the place feel less clean. For shared accommodation we found it quiet and very comfortable, and for the price in peak season you can’t complain. If there was just a bit more investment in a monthly deep clean, I’d be willing to pay a fair bit more for a place like this.

The host kept me in the loop and acted swiftly to fix problems that were beyond his control, which was great.
