The owner was really friendly and helped us find a taxi in Assouan, joined us for the light show, and pointed out a restaurant. The house was spacious and clean, in a quiet neighborhood and 10 minutes on foot from the temple. The rooms were large with very high ceilings, and the kitchen offered free Nescafé, tea, and water. The bed creaked, there was no top sheet, and the only blanket was a stiff, uncomfortable cover. Everything felt a bit old‑fashioned: the bathtub drain overflowed into the bathroom, flies entered through the entrance screen, and the furniture and cupboards looked like they belonged to another era. The airport taxi cost 250 pounds for a 5‑minute ride, which felt a bit pricey.

The location is perfect for walking to the temple in the morning, and in the evenings the host took us to the light show. The apartment is very clean and everything is provided. Absolutely recommended!

The location is good, 10 minutes from Abu Simbel temple. The host is warm‑hearted, waited for me until 1:00 am, and served us a free drink. He is nice with us and helps us. The bed and linen could be cleaner.
