“Fantastisch für den Budget Aufenthalt in Boracay, wenn man ein gewisse Toleranz mitbringt”
The location is great – just 250 m to Whitebeach Station 3, so you’re practically in the island’s center and can reach all sights in a few minutes. There are plenty of shops like Seven Eleven and vendors nearby, plus a police station on the way to the beach. Vendors approach you daily, but if you say no they accept it and aren’t aggressive like in Southern Europe or Turkey. If you’re looking for a cheap spot on Boracay and only need a room, you’ll be satisfied. Rooms are cleaned on request, so you decide when they’re cleaned. The staff were always friendly and tried to accommodate every request. The downside: you could only choose from six breakfast options (four Filipino, two American). Portions were small – Torcino only had one tablespoon, the American breakfast had a slice of toast, a strip of bacon, and the same jam for spreading. More variety or a daily rotating option would have been nice, and a bit more food overall. The room lacked a kettle for making coffee or tea. Warm showers were possible, but the water heater only offered three settings and the water was usually lukewarm regardless of the setting, though it was acceptable. We were lucky to get one of the better rooms with a “view”; otherwise you look at the wall of the neighboring building just 3 m away. Typical Philippine issues of mold (keep the bathroom light on so the fan runs and moisture doesn’t linger, and use the AC’s dehumidifier) and insects – we had a small ant trail at the light switch and occasional geckos.
