“Definitely worth a visit”
I’d recommend this spot if you’re not on the usual routes; the on‑site bar and restaurant are solid, and honestly there’s nothing to complain about.

Nestled in Aurizberri‑Espinal, Navarra, Hostal Rural Haizea sits on the historic Camino de Santiago, offering free Wi‑Fi and Mediterranean‑styled rooms with flat‑screen TVs and sweeping countryside views. Guests enjoy an on‑site restaurant serving innovative and traditional dishes, plus a cafeteria with sandwiches, tapas and drinks. The Roncesvalles Monastery lies 5 km away, and the Irati Forest is a 15‑minute drive.

The location and amenities were great, and the staff were friendly but swamped; more people would help. The bathroom in my private suite wasn’t clean—there were plenty of other people’s hair in the tub and on the floor. Other than that, it was fine.

The terrace is nice, but the host’s rude attitude—short hair, glasses, talking to people like dogs—was off. I recall a poor Korean guest who didn’t understand he needed to book the dinner; she refused to serve him, and he later told me he couldn’t find anything to eat. The “pilgrim” menu for €14 claims to be meatballs with carrots, veggies, and fries, yet it’s just tiny, scanty meatballs and cold fries. Skip it.

The beds are very comfortable. They offer food for pilgrims if you’re on the Camino de Santiago, and they allow luggage‑transfer companies.
