Niseko sits on the slopes of Mount Annupuri in western Hokkaido. Four interconnected ski resorts share the mountain peak, connected by base shuttles below. You come here for heavy winter snowfall, deep tree runs, and volcanic thermal baths. English is spoken in almost every shop, making navigation straightforward.
Airport bus over train
Direct resort buses run from New Chitose Airport directly to Hirafu. Train connections require changing at Otaru with tight ski bag transfers.
