“Location is perfect for getting to local attractions and wildlife”

Breakfast was very, very good, and the staff were kind, helpful, and friendly, but everything is up and down steps, and the car park is suffering from building work.

“Nice quiet pub in a good location.”

The location was perfect for us, the room was very clean but needed a bit of maintenance—some light bulbs weren’t working, the shower switch was stiff, and the bathroom fan flap outside blew all night, making it very noisy; our garden room, number 10, was pitch black outside when entering or leaving because there was no garden light; the staff were very nice and helpful, the pub food was good, but a bar‑snacks menu would have been nice; parking was very good. Breakfast wasn’t great, the food was just okay, the toaster only toasted one side in some slots, and there was no fresh fruit or yogurt.

“Adequate for 2 nights.”

The pub atmosphere was good and breakfast was excellent, but the bedroom blinds were broken, the toilet was hard to flush, the extractor fan was noisy and inefficient, and there were too few hangers in the single wardrobe.

“Lovely pub with rooms, would stay again.”

Bottled water was in the room and there was a small seating area outside with a garden view; the bathroom had a separate shower and bath, which was great after a long day of walking. We ate in the pub in the evening and the food was delicious. Breakfast was a mix of self‑service and mains cooked to order, all very good quality. The only downsides were the lack of plug sockets, and the one we found wasn’t very accessible, plus the armchair in the room was broken.
