“Für alle die eine aufregende Zeit in Freo erleben möchten.”
The location, the setting, and the community are truly unique. The staff, especially Nidal, were exceptionally friendly and reliable, and you’re always warmly welcomed in the OFS.

The hostel was super friendly, letting me meet a lot of fellow backpackers, and they even posted job listings for those on working holiday visas. The staff were great, especially Nidal at reception, who was incredibly helpful.

The hostel has all the facilities a traveler would need, but it gets pretty dirty in the afternoons.

I never had a good experience at this place. It was the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. The rooms were dirty, messy, noisy, and the staff were rude. The email told me check‑in was at 2 pm, but when I arrived the front desk said it was 3 pm and that early check‑in was impossible because the room “was not ready.” Yet when I finally checked in, the bed was filthy, and the photo on the website showed a dirty bed. I don't understand why they claimed it wasn't ready when it clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while. I booked through both the website and the welcome email, which stated a fee of $56.25, but I was charged $57.23. They still use handwritten forms to record guest info, and I could see that everyone else had booked the bed for $50. The first receptionist was very rude, chatting with other guests instead of helping those in line, while the second one was fine. I also don't get why they provide cutlery, cups, and dishes for every guest—if they want to do something special, at least use clean ones! It feels more like a shelter than a hostel. I won't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

The vibe was really good, but the Wi‑Fi in the girls’ dorm was weak and sometimes had poor coverage.
