The spot is useful, just a few minutes off the main A64 road from York, and the room was actually a small cottage with a sitting area and kitchen. The full English breakfast was excellent and modestly priced. It was exactly what I needed for a single overnight stay.

The owners were great—helpful, welcoming, and efficient. Breakfast was superb and offered good value. The evening was chilly and the central heating hadn’t been turned on (understandably), and there was no alternative heating; a fan heater or electric radiator would have helped.

The site was very quiet and close enough to visit York. The shower pressure was very low.
