Magnolia Hideout

We spent two wonderful days at the Magnolia Hotel in Nuwara Eliya and were completely satisfied. The hotel is very nice, clean, and situated in a great setting. We especially want to highlight the caretakers. They were exceptionally friendly, warm, and always helpful. They washed our laundry, brewed tea for us, and took care of many other little gestures. Their warm manner made us feel welcomed and at home from the very first moment. Thank you for the excellent hospitality! We wholeheartedly recommend the Magnolia Hotel in Nuwara Eliya and would return anytime.

The staff member who accommodated us was extremely friendly and even helped translate for us to the local shopkeeper, which was a massive help. The rooms were big, comfortable, and clean. We loved the English feel of the stay. Nothing else, though the location is up an extremely steep hill.

The beautiful house, the great surroundings. We were very well received by Madu. He is very helpful, offers many tips, and can arrange everything for you. The house is super clean and the rooms very comfortable. You can cook there yourself and everything is within walking distance or a short tuk‑tuk ride.

The accommodation is quietly located on the forest edge, which I personally found very nice. You can simply and cheaply take a tuk‑tuk to the city. The room was very nice and the host Madu extremely friendly and helpful. Only the water pressure in the shower was very weak. The value for money was top. I would come again next time!

Very nice place, super clean and close to town. I was the only guest that night, but the staff made me feel very welcome and was very helpful with arrangements for my onward travels. Thank you very much!
