The Pousada Sítio das Pedras is a beautiful spot with an amazing view and very well‑decorated rooms featuring quality furniture and a cozy bed, though the small space and lack of wardrobes made it hard to stow luggage comfortably. The only issue was breakfast: we were the sole guests, yet the promised breakfast didn’t arrive. Instead, a tray of a few items was handed over and we had to prepare coffee in the room with a makeshift coffee maker and no table to sit at. Luckily the sun was out, so we ended up drinking coffee on the balcony counter. Despite the attentive staff member Meire, the breakfast fell short—no fried eggs, juices were boxed, and fruit options were limited to apple, pear, and banana. There was only artisanal sliced bread, no French bread. We also had to wash our own dishes in the bathroom sink using liquid soap. The owner never bothered to meet us in person; all communication was via WhatsApp. Contrary to the booking advertisement, there was no dinner option. Because the lodge has no nearby restaurant, the owner suggested delivery from downtown Domingos Martins, about a 20‑minute walk from the lodge. It’s a shame, as the lodge has great potential with its lush surroundings and a charming river cutting through the property. The breakfast and room size were the main drawbacks.
