The owner was very friendly and always smiling, and he took me to the town market while I was walking around. The bed had a mosquito net, the hot shower was clean and comfortable, and the sound of the stream beside us was soothing. The hot springs were a three‑minute walk, so I could go for a soak whenever I had spare time. Next time I’ll visit in the dry season and hike the mountain. I would have appreciated a hair dryer; a shared one would be fine. The toilet and shower share a space, and there’s no place for sandals, so bring your own.

“Friendly host. Bungalow needs maintenance and love. Ants in the bed. Not comfortable.”

The bungalow was next to the hot springs and within walking distance. The walls looked mouldy and dirty, clearly needing a fresh coat of paint. Towels, sheets, and the mosquito net were overly perfumed, and the net itself was unusable. Ants were in the bed, and there were piles of rubbish in the entryway.

“2 night stay”

We loved the rustic, rural vibe of the cabin/lodge on a farm beside a stream, complete with a hammock by the side and a communal kitchen that let us meet and chat with other travelers. The location was brilliant: ten minutes from the bus station into town and a three‑minute walk from the hot springs. It was a relaxed, jungle‑like stay that impressed us. The owner was incredibly helpful, arranging my accommodation for the ghost festival in Loei, speaking to another Thai woman on the phone to sort it out, ordering a taxi for me when I left, and always greeting us with a smile and breakfast each morning. I would highly recommend this place. The only downside is that if you’re not a fan of ants, farm animals, and bugs, you might want to think twice, but that’s part of the experience for me.

“Super endroit mais manque d hygiène épouvantable, à ne pas recommander”

The hot springs, the mountain, and the village were all close by. The place was filthy, with tons of trash at the entrance, the staff lacked hygiene, the dishes were left unwashed for three days, the household bins were burned, and the staff were lazy.
