“Wasn't very pleased”
The hotel’s proximity to the metro station and nearby grocery stores for basics was a plus, but the place smelled of cigarettes and the AC was weak, hidden behind a protective shield. The remote only had on/off, and the TV’s input and menu were locked behind a code that the front desk claimed they didn’t have. The channels were greyed out, so I couldn’t connect an HDMI from my laptop, tablet, phone, or devices like Chromecast or Fire. Most guests were not western foreigners, and the noise level was high until 3 am with shouting and banging on walls or doors. I stayed three nights and encountered this from several guests. There was only one elevator, and the staff’s children kept messing with it, pushing buttons or holding it at a floor while “playing,” and the only way to release it was when the staff yelled harshly at the kids.
