It isn’t mentioned that the lodge is on an island that is part of Barra da Tijuca. By the address and location you only reach the street that leads to the island entrance. The lodge itself isn’t bad, but you have to pay 45 reais per day for a private parking lot (the description says there is parking) and you must pay for the boat crossing per person, which averages 7 reais. You don’t budget for these costs because it isn’t stated anywhere that access requires these arrangements.

“Eu adorei a ilha.”

I was very warmly welcomed and liked everything—room, bathroom, fridge, all very clean, a microwave outside the room for all guests, drinking water. I loved it, it was wonderful, I’ll definitely return. Note: there were gaps in the windows that let mosquitoes in, but the air conditioner solved that problem.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Amanda was very attentive and helpful. The TV channel options were excellent. I think a nameplate was missing; even though the number is on the wall, residents get confused when passing information. The WhatsApp communication felt a bit unreliable.

The location is convenient, the cleaning is adequate, and the staff are very pleasant. The facilities need maintenance, the bed is uncomfortable, and the shower is poor.
