The hotel sits right on the lake, and the terrace offers a beautiful view; the rooms have a charming old‑school vibe and are well equipped. The breakfast buffet was very generous, all dishes tasty and constantly restocked until the end. The staff were very friendly, and parking is available for a fee directly at the hotel. All sights in Lappeenranta are within walking distance, making it a good base to explore the area around Lake Saimaa. The only tiny note is that breakfast is held in a separate building across the main street, but that’s hardly an issue.

The breakfast was a bit weaker than what I’m used to at other hotels; there was no pork, at least I couldn’t find any. Our room’s temperature was set to +30 °C and couldn’t be lowered, so the room was too hot.
