The lady who took care of the house and us was amazing, and she made a fantastic Thai breakfast just for me; the villa, garden, and pool were simply gorgeous, and three dogs guarded the property. However, you should bring a translation app—otherwise communication gets tough—and plan ahead on what you want. The accommodation is a bit outside, and neither motorbike nor car rentals are available, so you’ll have to drive 10km into town. The property also needs a bit more upkeep; everything feels a little dated and could use updates, like damp shower curtains or broken gutters that let rain in.
