The food and drinks at the George were top‑class, with a great menu and a solid selection of beers and craft beers, and the deck by the river was lovely for al‑fresco dining. The accommodation was simple, featuring a shared bathroom with sandstone walls, and the room itself was small—probably a common trait of the place—but it felt like stepping back into a mid‑1800s inn. I hadn’t realized the bathrooms were shared, yet the overall value was exceptional and the room was very comfortable, so there was nothing else I disliked.
