“Poorly Average”
The room, only. I’ll explain below. Our experience at Hub Naples was very mixed, and I think people should know what to expect before booking. There is a huge difference between the room itself and everything you see before getting there. The biggest problem for us was definitely the entrance and the area around the property. Honestly, the arrival is awful. The entrance is ugly, dirty, poorly maintained and quite depressing. When we first arrived, we actually wondered if we were in the right place. At night, the area also made us feel very unsafe. We were travelling as a group and decided that nobody should walk back alone, so we always returned together. There were also many homeless people around the nearby streets. Of course, this does not automatically mean that an area is dangerous, and the property cannot be blamed for everything happening outside. But together with the dirty streets, the condition of the entrance and the general feeling of the area at night, our group simply did not feel comfortable there. But while the property cannot control the neighbourhood, the entrance to the property itself is part of the experience, and it really needs attention. The check-in was also quite strange and honestly felt very amateur. Two men received us, one called Franco and another man who never introduced himself. Neither spoke English, so we basically communicated using a translator, gestures and my limited Italian. That said, I want to be fair: they were both helpful and tried their best to assist us. It was certainly not the kind of check-in experience we expected, but in the end everything worked out. The funny thing is that the room itself was actually good. After that terrible first impression, we were surprised to find a comfortable and fairly modern room with basically everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the bed linen was fine, the bathroom was good and the shower was very good. We did notice a cigarette smell at times
