The garden is lovely and close to Amiens; the city was quickly reachable by bike along the Somme. Our host Hubert is extremely nice and helpful, always ready with advice and assistance, and he even brought us a baguette for breakfast every day. We’ll definitely come back. The “small house” accommodation was right on the street, so it was sometimes very noisy; next time we’ll rent the Atelier.

Parking is available on the property, the landlord is very friendly, and the grounds are usable for everyone, including bicycles and a rowing boat. Because of the weather we could sit outside in the garden, but the covered terrace is not part of this apartment. The location in the hortillonnages is nice. Inside, everything is very dark, so even during the day artificial light is needed. The staircase to the open attic is a bit narrow and not suitable for luggage; downstairs there is also no space. A slightly less crowded and brighter interior would improve the overall feel. Street noise is present even at night.

Watching swans, coots, ducks, and grebes glide just a few feet away, the spot is close to Amiens' centre-ville and WWI sites, and our host Hubert was incredibly kind and warm. We paddled the hortillonnages together in Hubert's boat as a family, and the beautiful Atelier added to the charm. Nothing negative.
