We had plenty of hot water, but there were cockroaches and we had to plunger the toilet several times, and we only went to pee.

“The filthiest most disgusting place I have ever seen. Uninhabitable.”

It was the cheapest option, but it was absolutely vile—filthy, as if never cleaned. Every wall had smears and foreign substances, the floors were covered in mysterious gunk and human hair, the bathroom walls looked like they had feces, and there were dirty underwear in the cabinet. The shower curtain had brown smears, the air‑conditioner filter was opaque and filthy, the single chair was broken with the seat detached, and the bedding had cigarette burns and human hair. The toilet bowl had feces splatters. This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed at. I had to speak with the manager because it was uninhabitable; he offered a different room that was equally disgusting, with visible smears everywhere and a broken toilet seat. I would not recommend anyone stay here. If I wasn’t in an emergency with a family member in the hospital and had more travel experience in Portland, I would have left immediately. It was a horrendous experience.

It was the worst hotel experience of my life. The room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke, and the blanket had visible burn marks. When I mentioned it, the host said there was no smell and offered to spray men’s cologne instead of fixing it. The room itself was in terrible shape—dirty walls that clearly needed renovation and paint. There was no basic furniture: no chair, no dresser, and the telephone sat on the floor with nowhere to put my stuff. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. Even though the host was polite, I felt so uncomfortable that I asked for a refund and refused to stay. My refund request was denied. I walked out anyway. Don’t even think about staying here!

“Dirty, used sheets, dirty chair with pet hair”

I can’t say I liked anything about my stay. The room was dirty, including the sheets, and it seemed the bed had just been remade after the last guest. I used my own wipes to clean the surfaces and bought body spray for the pillows and sheets because they smelled like the outdoors and dogs. I showed pictures to the owner and asked for a refund, but he declined.
