The staff were very friendly and helpful, the owner offered secure motorcycle parking, and the restaurant’s food offered good value.

“Zwiespältiges Erlebnis, Hotel eigentlich gut...”

The location is in the middle of a nice little town, yet there are plenty of parking spots right outside the door, and it’s quiet at night; the rooms and bathrooms are very good, especially for French standards, and since the reception isn’t staffed one receives a code by email to open the front door, which works perfectly. The hotel does have a restaurant and a bar, but both were closed that Saturday evening—no downtime! I had booked there partly because the “arrival beer” is important to me and I usually enjoy dinner at the hotel, but in this case there was no problem: a few meters down the street there’s another hotel with a good bar and an excellent restaurant where I ate in the evening, featuring tasty regional dishes that I highly recommend. The promised breakfast was also not available at the Agapanthe, but the nearby tabac offered a few tables, good coffee, and sweet treats, or a bakery across the street, or you could go to the Voyageur hotel for breakfast, which should work too. I never saw any hotel staff—neither when I arrived in the afternoon, when I left in the evening, nor the next morning until departure at 10.

“Pour une nuitée, ça ira....”

The location was good. The building needs a “refresh” on the façade and inside. Because the restaurant was closed on Sundays, we couldn't try the listed dishes.
