The spot was superb because it sat very close to the Colosseum, the gym was a plus, and the breakfast spread was impressive. However, we received an upgraded room without asking, and the AC didn’t work; they installed a window unit that, after three hours, kept the room at 25 °C—hot and uncomfortable. At 1 am they sent someone to try fixing it again. Eventually they moved us to a new room, but I was told that since we had a free upgrade we wouldn’t get the same quality. In reality, I never requested an upgrade; I only wanted a room with a working AC. The manager offered compensation for the first night, but more than a month after we left I’m still waiting for the promised payment.
