The views were stunning. There was a covered parking area, which was handy when we worried about hail. The building and its surroundings were modest, matching the photos. The room was quite spacious; we stayed in the Michaelangelo room. However, the pool was out of order, so we never used it. That was a major reason we chose this place, especially for the kids. Several lights in our room, including in the bathroom, were out, making it very dark with two children. When we mentioned this to the front desk, they claimed there were no lights, but we could prove otherwise by taking photos of the blown bulbs. My husband, an electrician, moved a working bulb into the bathroom so we could see. The bathtub had no plug, so we couldn’t run a small bath for the kids. When we asked for a plug, they said a previous guest had flooded the bathroom, so they couldn’t provide one; instead, they handed us a kitchen plug, which didn’t fit, so we improvised by wrapping a plastic bag around the drain filter. An overnight storm knocked out the building’s water supply (not their fault), so we couldn’t wash bottles or do much for our 1‑year‑old that day and had to go into town (40 min away). The restaurant on the property closed that night, so we were sent to town for dinner. When we asked if the restaurant accepted card, they said yes, so we didn’t withdraw cash earlier. Later, at dinner, they didn’t take card and had no internet. Luckily they let us eat, but we had to make an almost hour round trip at 9 pm to the nearest ATM to get cash and return with a 1‑year‑old and a 3‑year‑old. In hindsight, it would have been better to book elsewhere in a larger town, as the town 5 minutes from the property has almost nothing except this one small restaurant.

We had a wonderful room with a breathtaking view; the property itself is very beautiful, an ancient building that has been wonderfully restored. The location and the pool were also perfect. Breakfast was superb and the staff were very nice. It feels like a little Tuscan dream, and we’ll definitely come back soon. The bed was a bit hard for our liking.

It’s a fantastic spot to unwind and truly recharge, but the heat was brutal and an air‑conditioner would have been a lifesaver.

I loved how clean and well‑located the place was, but the staff felt a bit stretched thin for the hotel’s needs. The venue is gorgeous with great potential, yet I noticed some gaps in overall management and organization that could really sharpen the guest experience with a little extra attention.
