A broken chair injured my wife and she was bitten three times on her leg, which looked like bed bugs; the toilet water valve leaked, requiring two flushes each time to clear it, the front window was broken and wouldn’t lock, previous occupants had left food in the fridge, it took five full minutes for the water to start running and it was only slightly warm, the chairs and carpet were heavily stained so we had to lay towels on the chairs just to sit, the place was filthy, the manager was rude and nasty, and this is the worst stay of my 53 years of travel, the first time I’ve ever written a negative note about a place I’ve stayed at; I don’t like being a complainer. To improve, bulldoze the place and start over.

The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and the staff were friendly—definitely worth a return visit. The building is old, but the price is reasonable for the condition.

The location suited our trip perfectly, but that’s where the positives stopped. The rooms were filthy; the carpet was so dirty I had to wear socks to bed. Two chairs were stained and unusable, and we found a used bar of soap at the tub’s edge that we had to remove. I doubt an inspector would approve all the appliances plugged into a single wall socket. I would have chosen another motel if one had been available, but none existed in town.
