“An immersion into slower life in north Madeira’s central town”

The location was fantastic. The host was kind, generous, and warm, offering a truly local experience. We had an exceptional time with Leonel and family, eating fruit straight from their yard and taking long levada walks up to the chapel. It was perfect for driving to other northern towns for day trips, and the high‑quality roadways and tunnels blew us away. Be aware that the last week of August hosts the town’s annual festival—we loved it! Parking can be tight for some, and the music goes on all night (fun, but good to know). The bed was very firm, which might not suit everyone.
