Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Yorkville by IHG

“Friendly staff, good location and other restaurants around hotel within walking distance.”

Check‑in and check‑out were quick, the front desk was pleasant, and everyone on staff was friendly, though the hallways could have used a vacuum.

The location was good and the facilities were solid.

“It worked for what we were there for”

The place needs a few upgrades: the bathroom sink had no water pressure, the lighting was poor, the shower had red mold where the board was sealed—which I think is unsafe—and the floor corner was damaged; I took pictures of it.

I stayed just to try the hot tub, which looks great, but it was unusable because the maintenance guy added too much chlorine. The first time I got an uncontrollable cough and burning eyes, and when others tried it the second time they left in tears. I asked the guy if he was smoking chlorine; he said it was so strong he shut it off. The pool was fine, but the staff and property are otherwise wonderful. The maintenance guy clearly needs to read the monitor and control the chlorine properly; otherwise, you don’t deserve to be there.
