The stay was personal and cozy, with a great location and swimming facilities. I’ll return next fall. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good and varied.

The place is very distinctive and set in a truly evocative setting. The house is beautiful, thoughtfully furnished, and full of details that give it a special atmosphere. The rooms are also nicely styled. We also appreciated the owner’s willingness to help before our stay: on Booking the rooms appeared as doubles, and because we booked for three people I initially had to reserve two rooms. By contacting her directly she told us we could stay in a triple room, which wasn’t listed on Booking. She allowed us to change the reservation and even gave us tips that helped us save. Fiskars is a wonderful village, and the guest house’s slightly off‑center location away from the commercial, craft, and artistic heart of town was a conscious choice for us, so it’s not a drawback. Unfortunately we ran into several problems with the management and maintenance. The welcome at arrival was practically nonexistent: even though we had communicated our expected arrival time, no one was there, and after 10‑15 minutes we had to call to get in. The key handling was also unclear: we brought the only key set with us and were then asked to return it. Since we were walking and already 1‑2 km from the property, we had to arrange a meeting in town to hand it over to someone in charge. The breakfast information was also vague: the 9:30 time was not communicated to us and wasn’t clearly listed on Booking. For our excursion schedule it was too late and we never got to use it. Looking for something to eat on our own, we found many expired foods, some from many years ago, which we consider very serious. The rooms are nice but not very functional: there was no mirror, any wardrobe, hangers, or a place to put clothes. The Wi‑Fi was essentially only available on the ground floor and didn’t reach the rooms properly. The showers had issues too: the sauna shower was intact but not very private, being exposed to other guests’ view; the other, more private one had a broken and unstable glass door with an incomplete seal. The house is very evocative but needs more maintenance: some windows are old and we noticed a closed‑off smell in some areas. It has great potential but needs more attention to management, safety, and upkeep.

“Mukava yö ja lyhyt matka Bilnäsin ruukin keikalle.”

Talo oli viehättävä, huoneet mukavat ja siistit. Ihanaa vanhan talon henkeä. Kiva, rauhallinen sijainti ja vehreä ympäristö. Aamupalan laittaja tuli vasta klo 9.15 paikalle. Asiakaspalvelutaidoissa oli parannettavaa aamupalan valmistelun ja asiakaskohtasmisen suhteen. Kahvi oli vasta tippumassa, kun alettiin ottaa aamupalaa. Vain tavallista maitoa oli tarjolla ja kauramaitoa sai vain erikseen kysymällä. Aamiaisen aloitusaika oli varsin myöhäinen. Työntekijä vaikutti tylyltä ja kiireiseltä

The place was great in terms of location. The owner’s staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The bed didn’t fit my body well and the pillows were too soft.
