The rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy, yet the outdoor lighting was inadequate for reaching rooms 2 & 3 or 52 & 59; the lights were either off or malfunctioning, which was inconvenient for my elderly parents.
The location near the airport is great, the setting is lovely with well‑presented buildings, the room is a good size with a comfy bed, and the breakfast selection is nice in a dining room that overlooks the lake. However, the walk from the car park to the entrance is poorly lit, and the corner to the front of the building is blindingly bright from spotlights in the front garden. The bedroom is two flights up with no lift, making heavy luggage a struggle, and the bathroom had dust and cobwebs that needed a deeper clean.

efficient and friendly staff. Bar and restaurant fine. Breakfast OK. Unfortunately right under the Stansted flight path and no noise insulation in the room. The Hilton at the airport itself is much quieter. No air con and the bedding was too thick and warm, but opening the windows made the noise worse. Also the noisy extractor fan in the bathroom went on too long after turning off the light

We got in around 9 pm to find the bar closed, and during breakfast the kitchen radio blasted loudly, clashing with the restaurant music; two different stations playing at once was frustrating, though I know it’s not a big deal and hope it was a one‑off.
