I landed in a spot that’s surprisingly quiet even though it’s right on a street, and the rooms are practical enough. The catch is the hotel is actually closed; the rooms are rented out by Hotel Rothorn, so you have to walk 5 min to their reception and breakfast, while the place itself feels a bit abandoned. If that had been made clear on the website before booking, it wouldn’t have been a problem, but we were left in the dark. Overall, the organization seemed a bit overwhelmed.

I never liked it at all. The stay was canceled on site. It’s not a hotel but a ghost stay; the building is completely empty. Those who booked could only sleep there. There’s nothing else—no cozy vibe, no beer at the bar, no breakfast, just emptiness. For the usual hotel amenities you have to go to another location owned by the same owner about 300 m away. Breakfast, drinks, or anything else requires a trip to that other site, which isn’t mentioned in the ad and only becomes apparent after the booking is confirmed. The fact that you walk into a dark, quiet, abandoned building is especially frustrating. No welcome, just nothing. To top it off, the bath linens were shredded and torn in the bathroom, which was the final straw. We canceled our stay immediately in response.
