Despite some negative reviews I’d seen, our stay was pleasant: the room was neat and comfortable for our overnight stop, the host was lovely and prepared a beautiful breakfast, and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant.

The restaurant was good, but the rooms were poor and not like the ones we booked, and the Wi‑Fi was very bad.

The owner is absolutely fantastic—such a pleasant guy, the setting is peaceful, and the food is out of this world! We also loved the vaspo 😁.

The spot in Durham is spot on, rooms are plain but cover every basic need. Max gave a warm welcome and the on‑site restaurant nails the evening meals, breakfast was solid. The only downside was the room and bathroom: better toiletries, more attention to detail like an extension lead on the shower, and the soap dispenser in the shower was moldy.
