Hylands Hotel

Nothing old or dirty needed modernising, but the beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were thin, and the whole place looked scruffy.

The location suited my needs and the bed was very comfortable, but the WiFi didn’t work, the walls and carpet were extremely dirty, the heating was fully on and couldn’t be adjusted, and the hotel only offered tea and coffee making facilities; when I asked for a spoon I was told they didn’t have any.

“worst Hotel I have stayed in and would definitely not go back.”

very Little. the bed was reasonably comfortable and the property was relatively close to the station. Other than that it had nothing going for it. the shower was unusable, hot water tap would not turn off, but use cold and the shower was cold. No plug in the sink. cold tap on the sink needed a lot of effort to turn it on. Consequently no shower in the morning. Two double beds but lights above the bed not working had to walk across the room to the door to turn off the lights furniture was old and very worn out. Sliding wardrobe door would not slide. Window looked out onto roof which was covered in rubbish. Wiring to television was just hanging in Mid air. The room was close to inhabitable. was only there for one night and would not have stayed for a 2nd one. Yes it was inexpensive and did not expect a lot but this was way below par and not worth the money we paid Not sure Booking dot com should even offer this property

“Just needs a bit of effort to be right, excellent value but well short of”

The price was good and the cleanliness was fine, yet the room was hot, the shower was broken, there was no toilet paper, and the TV didn't work.

The exit was convenient, but the building felt old, dirty, and almost haunted.
